Pets is the thinnest category the sweep covers — on a normal day it returns a third of what Home & Kitchen does at the same discount floor. That is a real finding and it is why this vertical may not survive to the final three.

It is also the category where the persona has to be most careful. The joke here is always about the owner, never about the animal, and anything involving animal welfare, training aversives, or health gets dropped from the feed rather than written around. There is a blocklist. It exists because a deal that cannot be presented honestly and kindly is not worth the click.

What is genuinely good in this category: grooming hardware. Nail grinders, brushes and clippers are durable, discount hard, and are the rare pet purchase that reliably gets used more than twice.
